Functions of ZINA

  • Influence or facilitate change for nurses in Zimbabwe built on competence, credibility, and trustworthiness Keeping the best interests of our members and nursing profession influences decision makers by building a case for the desired change, backing the case with facts and data, and putting a human face on the issue using a compelling visual image.
  • Establish positive, collaborative relationships with other partners or associations local, regional and international to garner the support necessary to address the issue.To provide a visionary leadership that is sensitive to national health issues and influence the national health policy advancing the profession through continued education practice and research
  • To successfully negotiate for good working environment and good working conditions that ensures comfort and safety nurses and patients.
  • To equip members and none members with adequate knowledge on self-sustenance
  • To cover knowledge gap and improve working conditions
  • reduce morbidity and mortality in all trauma cases and occupational hazards hence supporting government initiatives to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 
  • To advocate for evidence-based practices that will lead to minimize the cost of healthcare in Zimbabwe.

For Nurses: Ensure that nurses’ expertise, guidance and concerns are top of mind with government leaders and key decision-makers across Zimbabwe.

For Nursing: Promote Nursing as a profession in Zimbabwe that evolves to match changes in nursing curriculums and practice with the global community

For Healthcare: Advocate for enhanced equity, increased safety, and improved access to healthcare
